Medical Malpractice

Defective Catheter

Defective catheters, like any defective medical device, may cause serious injury and harm to the patient.  There are a few scenarios in which a medical device such as a catheter may cause injury to the patient:

1) the catheter is defective in itself and doesn’t function properly
2) the catheter is inserted or used improperly by the healthcare team
3) healthcare professionals fail to notice the warning signs that a catheter is not functioning properly
