The Huffington Post recently published an informative interview with Dr. Marty Makary, a health safety advocate and the author of Unaccountable: What Hospitals Won’t Tell You and How Transparency Can Revolutionize Healthcare.
Dr. Makary is an outspoken advocate for medical transparency, especially in cases where errors or medical malpractice have occurred. According to Makary, “We’ve got good people working in a bad system, and we haven’t been able to talk openly and honestly about this problem for a long time,” Dr. Makary said, adding that politicians discuss how to fund healthcare, but not how to fix the broken system.
